Seeing Jesus in Psalm 95

Psalm 95 Today I am left with some questions. Why is God angry? Why does God stay angry for so long? Why does God swear to not let these people enter His rest?  Is Jesus like this anywhere in the New Testament? I’m not sure I will answer these questions this morning. But the Psalm starts wonderfully and it is easy for me to see Jesus in the first three verses. V.1 Jesus is unquestionably the rock of our salvation who is a king and is described so by Daniel . V.2 Jesus is worthy of thanksgiving songs; we’ll sing to him according to John in Revelation . V.3 Jesus is the great King God according to what Paul wrote to Timothy In verse 8 it turns and stays until the end of the chapter very personal and a strong warning.  Verses 1-7 of Psalm 95 are from the psalmist to God. Luke 23:46 v.10 I am dying from grief; my years are shortened by sadness. He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” Matthew 26:38 v.18 Silence their lying lips—those proud and arrogant lips that accuse the godly. “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in him! Matthew 27:42 v.22 In panic I cried out, “I am cut off from the Lord!” Then at three o’clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my G...
