Psalm 96 “Each day proclaim the good news that he saves.” Psalm 96:2 How can you not? That’s my question. I’m not going to try to convince you that Jesus is in this Psalm. I think personally that it is self-evident. Jesus is Lord ( v.1 ), Jesus saves ( v.2 ), Jesus is the creator ( v.5 ), Jesus is the king who reigns ( v.10 ), Jesus is judge of the earth ( v.13 ). I am not going to talk to you about the praiseworthiness of our God. Psalm 96 does that very well and it is beautiful. And I’m not going to discuss the coming judge that is Jesus, although that is a great motivation. In fact there are at least three motivations for what I would like to discuss and I have already mentioned two: Jesus’ praiseworthiness and that He is judge, and then add to that the closing aspect of His soon coming . In fact the imminent return of Christ our King is certainly an important motivation. But I want to ask my heart and you my friend, what are we going to do with the admonition at the end...
Viewing all the Psalms as Messianic, I will read the Psalms consecutively for 150 days and try to write a outline for teaching with thoughts about the day's Psalm's unique contribution to the revelation of Jesus Christ our Messiah the Word of God and King of kings, the eternal Son of David.
