Seeing Jesus in Psalm 53

  Psalms 53 How refreshing that God is so open and clear about opinions and positions held among mankind. If there is anything I hate it is being lied to or being deceived. Society says there is no God. Society says that you can believe what you want as long as it doesn't hurt others. Society says a loving God won't judge people. Society says we have no reason to fear a loving God. These are all lies according to Psalm 53. So when God makes something absolutely clear and it flies in the face of commonly held views of society today, I know not to believe those lies. My heart wants to go after the people with such ideas but my spirit says focus on what God reveals about Himself here first. My pride wants to point fingers (other times it may want to defend people against such accusations as are found here). But I am looking for Jesus in the Psalms. Seeing Jesus in Psalm 46

Psalm 46 Have you read Psalm 46? My small “Bible lesson” is meaningless compared to the Word of God. After I copied the Psalm by hand I felt like something was missing, so I went and read the Psalm aloud and recorded it to share. But still something was missing. So I went back to look at my handwritten copy and compared it to the Bible text I was copying and sure enough I had left a word out. Did you catch it? “Interlude” at the end of verse 3. Missing the interlude has been a problem of mine for most of my life, since I can remember and I remember at one point in my life as a leader, around the year 2000, I purposed in my heart to change the habit of missing the interlude. This Psalm has three. Three moments to stop, pause, rest, consider and reflect on all that God has said and done. You too will miss the interludes if you don’t take time to read the Psalm and then pause before reading my words or any other devotional material. I am a full time volunteer in a Christian bookstore.
